Blogged Projects (MAY 2008)

(MAY 2008) Since the start of the year I have been working in Vancouver, imrpoving accent technique with Tony Alcantar and studying the work of Headlines Theatre ('Theatre for Living', an offshoot of Boal's 'Theatre of the Oppressed').

At present I am in UK re-working a past production that I co-wrote/performed in London ('Choices'). In addition, I am aiding Newcastle based 'Xpose theatre company' in their upcoming project funded by the British Council. This will involve working with young people to help them produce original pieces of work, gaining inspiration from watching pieces of topical theatre.

On finishing these current projects, I will be returning once more to Kuala Lumpur, estimated to be there by the end of June 2008.

Hi miss,

Do you remember me? I am from Mutiara international grammar school. You came to teach us. My name is Clarissa. I was acting as the baby squirrel(girl) My friend lily wanted me to mention her in this comment. The one who was a bit silly. She acted as one of the naughty girls who threw rubbish in the forest. I will contact you soon with my yahoo.

Executive Director of Blubricks and International projects

****************http://www.blubricks.com/*******************

In 2009 my students in KL represented Malaysia in Canada's 'Headline Theatre's' global project 'International Day of Action on Global Warming'. Set up by David Diamond of Vancouver based 'Headline's Theatre', this event took place in every continent around the world, and used theatrical techniques to discover what global warming means, how it is caused, and how we can make changes to save our planet.

Now as joint Executive Director of Blubricks (Kuala Lumpur), I am proud to bring in talented trainers and practitioners from around the world, as well as traveling to UK in order to bring back the latest skill-sets.

If you are interested in working with us in Kuala Lumpur, or collaborating in any way, please contact me at abigail_barragry@yahoo.co.uk
